For those of you who attended Rally Australia when it was based in Perth you might remember the loud shouts coming from the Takayama College Rally Team (itte rassyai) (translated to Von voyage) as their cars left service to go and do battle in the stages of Western Australia, back then the team ran 2 to 3 team and a bus load of student keeping the car going. Now there down to 1 and they don't travel overseas but the passion and enthusiasm from the students is still there.
This weekend the team will compete in Rally Hokkaido in a Subaru WRX with Tomoki Ohashi driving and Atsushi Funaki co-driving along with a team of students and college professors looking after the cars.
Takayama College Rally Team are running car 16 in the FIA Asia-Pacific Rally Championships.
